Realize that intellectual property is an obsolete notion in a world where every human can potentially produce and publish movies, music, articles, software and other results of their creative intellectual work. Start changing legislation against the pressure of current copyright holders towards a better and more human world where any published content is considered common property and free to be re-used. Legislation must protect the author's right to be honored and reminded as the author, but the autor's revenue is not a legal issue. There are better ways to motivate creativity and innovation than accounting for the usage of "intellectual property".

Why is this important?

As a result of the digital revolution, legislations which protect the interests of copyright holders are becoming absurd. Enforcing laws that try to account for the usage of "intellectual property" causes immense work to our juridic systems. Current copyright laws hender creativity and innovation instead of sustaining them.
